2020 Global Gala Cancelled

Fellow OSCA Members and Friends,

I regret to advise you that this year’s Global Gala and Annual Meeting, scheduled to take place on April 5th at Creighton’s Harper Center, has been cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The OSCA Board unanimously agreed that the safety of its members and guests compelled this action given the guidance provided by public health officials. Creighton has come to the same conclusion and officially cancelled the event. We hope that this event can be rescheduled, but there is no date at this time due to the uncertainty of the future impact of the virus.

OSCA wishes to thank all of the individuals and organizations that have contributed to the planning of this event, including the Gala Committee chaired by Maorong Jiang, Creighton University, keynote speaker Jeff Koterba, our Sister Cities, and Mayor Stothert and her office. We will be placing as much content planned for the Gala as possible on the website.

We will be refunding individual reservations made to date for the Gala. Seats and tables included with Corporate donation levels will be applied to the next Gala unless other arrangements are desired (please E-MAIL to arrange for a refund of the Gala portion of the Corporate contribution).

Finally, since the Gala is OSCA’s major fundraiser and membership drive during the year, your consideration of RENEWING YOUR MEMBERSHIP would be especially appreciated this year.

Thank you for your support — please stay safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

John Hawkins
President – Omaha Sister Cities Board of Directors
